Mark Millar Shares First Look At Kevin Smith’s Hit-Girl Comic

Kick-Ass 3 never came to pass and the planned cinematic reboot hasn’t quite started yet. However, Mark Millar is far from finished with Hit-Girl, the fan-favorite 12-year old vigilante with a merciless taste for dispatching bad guys. Early next year, a brand new arc of the Hit-Girl ongoing series will bring the titular heroine to Hollywood for another bloody adventure. Millar has dropped the first look at Kevin Smith’s Hit-Girl comic, to offer fans a taste of the carnage to come.

Via Deadline, Millar debuted artist Francesco Francavilla’s cover for Hit-Girl #13, which kicks off the Hit-Girl: The Golden Rage of Hollywood story. Smith will be joined by artist Pernille Orum for a four-issue tale that finds Mindy McCready targeting Hollywood’s pedophiles while using every resource that her alter ego has to offer.

“I wrote most of The Golden Rage of Hollywood Hit-Girl arc while recuperating after my health scare, so it was Mindy McCready and her bloody thirst for justice who helped me mend my broken heart,” said Smith according to Deadline. “Telling tales with Mark’s toys was an absolute pleasure, but having Pernille bring it all to life makes this a must-read for me! Pernille’s style is like hot cocoa for the eyes and soul, so I’m ecstatic she opted to lend it to our pint-sized, pre-pubescent Punisher!”

Millar also shared his admiration of Smith’s writing and his excitement about working with him on this comic book.

“Kevin is one of my favorite people in Hollywood,” said Millar. “He writes dialogue the way I wish people talked, and his intelligence and humor fits into this world just so perfectly…I wrote him a fan letter over twenty years ago asking to see his Superman script and I was there when Clerks was screened in Scotland even before that, so you can imagine how delighted I am to be somewhere on the same credit page as this guy.”

Hit-Girl #13 will be released in January 2019.
