After five long years of bitter public fallout and a fractured underground, the unthinkable has finally happened. Kingspade is officially back. Today, March 1, 2018, D-Loc and Johnny Richter squashed the beef, stepped back into the booth together, and dropped a brand-new single titled "Who We."
The return of the P-Town Ballers completely shifts the landscape of the modern underground. While their classic mid-2000s run was defined by Mike Kumagai's G-funk bounce, Loc and Richter recruited a new team of architects to modernize their sound for this reunion. "Who We" features heavy, contemporary production from Corleone, with industry veteran Steve Dang stepping in to handle the mastering and engineering. The result is a massive, bass-heavy track that proves Loc and Richter's undeniable vocal chemistry never faded.
Alongside the single, Kingspade released an official music video today and dropped a bombshell on the culture: a brand-new, full-length Kingspade album is officially in the works. Seeing D-Loc and Richter standing shoulder-to-shoulder on the cover art is something many fans thought they would never witness again after the 2013 civil war.
The Kingspade engine has officially restarted. Go stream "Who We," throw your spades up, and get ready for the absolute massive return of the kings.
