Justin Roiland creating animated series Gloop World for Quibi
Quibi has greenlit the animated series Gloop World from Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, created by Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, who developed the project alongside John Harvatine IV (Crossing Swords) and Eric Towner (Buddy Thunderstruck). Harvatine will direct the project.

Gloop World is a clay-based stop-motion series that chronicles the absurd, but strangely relatable lives of anthropomorphic blobs, roommates Bob Roundy and Funzy. Follow the pair as they navigate a malleable, clay-mated suburbia and outskirts of Gloop World.
“Gloop World has been a dream of mine to make for almost seven years,” said Roiland. “A tactile clay animation show with a mysterious, weird, and expansive world and really fun characters, fingerprints and all. I couldn’t have done this without the folks at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios who understood exactly what I meant when I wanted the clay animation to have an imperfect approach, where you can see the animators in the work. I want the Gloop characters to feel like you can reach into your phone and grab them yourself. Can’t wait to share this weird silly show with the world!”
“Ever since I first saw Gumby, I was fascinated with clay as a medium,” added Harvatine. “Gloop World is funny, and it’s innovative, and Quibi is the perfect home for this show.”
Stoopid Buddy Stoodios’ Seth Green, Harvatine, Matthew Senreich, Towner and Chris Waters will serve as executive producers on the project.

Quibi, which is short for “Quick Bites” is scheduled to have its launch on April 6, 2020, with already more than a billion dollars raised from its investors. It has a number of projects currently in development. Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, Laurence Fishburne, and Don Cheadle are eight of the many producers and talents who are working hard on the production of the said projects
The streaming service, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, is set to feature series that run two to four hours in length and are broken down into parts that are 3-15 minutes in length.
