Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3 Episode 2 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Sabrina and her friends retrieved Nick, along with Lucifer, from hell, and she ascended to the throne as others in hell questioned Lilith’s legitimacy. In Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 3 Episode 2, Sabrina is conflicted over her main duty of dragging souls to hell.
Pinwheels
Lilith pulled Sabrina aside during cheerleading practice. Not enough souls had been dragged to hell, and the dissenters were pressuring Sabrina to carry this duty out. After failing to escort a chess master to hell, the pressure was on to get the next one right. Also, Sabrina saw her new after-school job as an opportunity to collect a corpse for a vessel for Lucifer. Unfortunately, Jimmy Platt, the ice cream, had been extending his contract with Lucifer by killing children for their innocent souls. Sabrina refused to accept the extension, but Jimmy indicated that dragging his soul to hell would condemn the child he’d kidnapped and stashed somewhere.
With her friends’ help, Sabrina learned of a missing child, Lucy Anderson. Roz and Sabrina visited her mother, who told them that Lucy collected pinwheels. Using a pinwheel and a spell, Sabrina was able to contact Lucy, who told them she was in a freezer. Sabrina used their connection as a beacon to teleport to Lucy. However, Jimmy was ready for her, and Sabrina was unable to teleport out. Thankfully, Lilith tracked Sabrina and freed her and Lucy. Lilith returned Lucy to her mother, while Sabrina took care of Jimmy. With a demon as her muscle, she brought Jimmy to hell to be tortured. In hell, she asserted her authority as Queen and announced that she would reform hell.
The Devil’s Afoot
Sabrina had locked up Nick and Lucifer in the Academy, bound by Damascus steel and a ring of salt. A break in the ring meant that Lucifer was able to assert his influence over the school. Elspeth hurt another student, and Zelda slapped Agatha, who taunted her. Signs like curdled milk in witches’ tea and beetles in their hair meant that Lucifer was near. Zelda and Hilda sent the students to search for signs of Lucifer. When Sabrina arrived home, Zelda and Hilda confronted her. They had figured out what Sabrina had done, especially since Sabrina had gone to Cassius for books on soul transference.
Eldritch Terrors
Prudence and Ambrose found Faustus, but it was clear that more time had passed to him than one month. He had spent fifteen years raising his babies, Judas and Judith, to be sacrificed. He performed a ritual to bring a monster out of Loch Ness, who gave him a large fish egg. With Lucifer’s absence, older magic would rise again, including the Eldritch Terrors. Prudence and Ambrose brought Blackwood back to Zelda, Hilda, and Sabrina, who used him as the new vessel for Lucifer. Nick was free and alive. Prudence and Ambrose kept Judas and Judith in a dollhouse under a living doll spell.
