Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins to Star in Quibi’s Thriller Series Survive
According to Deadline, Emmy Award-nominated actress Sophie Turner has signed on for the lead role in Quibi’s forthcoming thriller series Survive. This will mark the latest TV project for Turner since portraying the role of Sansa Stark in HBO’s award-winning series Game of Thrones which had aired its eighth and final season last May. Tony nominee Corey Hawkins (Straight Outta Compton, Six Degrees of Separation) has also been cast for the male lead opposite Turner.
“I couldn’t be more honored to portray the role of Jane in Survive for Quibi,” Turner said. “She’s a complex character fighting against the odds to not only save her life, but to also find her own source of strength and courage. I only hope this can impact anyone struggling with self-worth to understand they are braver than they know and to seek the support they need”

Based on author Richard Abate’s novel, Survive will follow the story of Jane whose plane crashes on a remote snow-covered mountain and she, along with Paul, the only remaining survivor must pull themselves out of the wreckage and fight for their lives. Together they embark on a harrowing journey out of the wilderness, battling brutal conditions and personal traumas.
“After reading the script, it was clear that we’d need to find the right artist to take on the lead role in Survive and we couldn’t be happier than to have Sophie starring who brings a high caliber of talent to the table,” CEO of Gunpowder & Sky, Van Toffler said. “I’m also thrilled to be making a movie with Mark Pellington who had the office next to me at MTV in the 80s and has grown to be an exceptional director.”
The series will be directed by Mark Pellington from a script adapted by Abate and Jeremy Ungar. It will be produced by Abate, Cary Granat, and Ed Jones with Gunpowder & Sky’s Barry Barclay, Van Toffler and Floris Bauer serving as executive producers.

Quibi, which is short for “Quick Bites” is scheduled to have its launch on April 6, 2020, with already more than a billion dollars raised from its investors. It has a number of projects currently in development. Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, Laurence Fishburne, and Don Cheadle are eight of the many producers and talents who are working hard on the production of the said projects
The streaming service, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, is set to feature series that run two to four hours in length and are broken down into parts that are no longer than 10 minutes in length and is set to launch on
