Get your sunglasses ready, folks! The 1999 action classic The Matrix is returning to theaters from August 30 to September 5 to celebrate its 20th anniversary only at Dolby Cinemas at AMC locations.

“Warner Bros. is proud to re-release the groundbreaking motion picture The Matrix, for the first time in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos,” said Warner Bros.’ president of domestic distribution Jeff Goldstein. “Dolby Cinema offers moviegoers an unparalleled sense of realism in how they experience this game-changing film, making it a must-see event, whether for the first time or a return to The Matrix.”

The Matrix is one of the most ground-breaking films ever made thanks to its incredible blend of incredible action and mind-bending philosophy. It’s hard to believe 20 years have passed since we first witnessed the “bullet time” effect on the big screen.
