The Japanese RPG mobile game “Grand Summoners” is well known for its frequent collaborations with popular animes, such as “The Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime.” Carrying on the tradition, Crunchyroll has announced a new in-game event for Grand Summoners that will feature Crunchyroll-Hime, the anime mascot for Crunchyroll.
Grand Summoners is a real-time RPG that features rich gameplay, co-op battles, and epic storylines. It is one of the top-grossing anime-inspired JRPG that is published with Good Smile Company and NextNinja. The in-game event that begins August 28th will feature Crunchyroll-Hime as an exclusive playable character along with her mortal black cat sidekick Yuzu. Hime will be able to be summoned in the Kitsune Herofest Adventure alongside other Grand Summoner heroes. Hime will have themed equips available in equip summons and will be the first fire type healer-attacker combo in the game. Hime will also have the ability to revive herself once per battle.
Crunchyroll-Hime will be the first global-exclusive character to be released in Grand Summoners. Her distinct and unique look for the game comes from hand-drawn animation that is later pixelated. Yuzu will also fight alongside Hime and will copy every move that she makes. Fans of Grand Summoners and Crunchyroll will be able to watch a detailed behind-the-scenes creation of Crunchyroll-Hime, in an exclusive web-documentary that will be made available on Crunchyroll’s Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, which will follow Hime’s release.
Rian Tachibana will voice Crunchyroll Hime during the event, who has also voiced characters in “Patlabor,” “Persona 4: The Golden,” and the character Selia in “Grand Summoners.” Tachibana will also make an appearance at the Crunchyroll Expo to give attendees a special preview of the event. This will take place during the Crunchyroll Game Industry panel, along with the Crunchyroll-Hime panel.
Players who log into Grand Summoners during the event will receive free Crunchyroll-Hime themed stickers, in-game currency, and more. They’ll also get two login bonuses that feature rare items. Those who login into the game during the Crunchyroll Expo will be treated to surprise gifts in addition to Hime’s chat-sticker filled login bonus.
Grand Summoners is currently available for download on both Android and iOS, with the Crunchyroll-Hime collaboration set to release on August 28th and will run until October 31st.
