E3 2019: VoltEdge TX70, an affordable wireless headset for every gamer

If you haven’t heard about VoltEdge, there’s no need to worry. They’re a fairly new company who wants to disrupt the gaming headset market. This was the first year that VoltEdge made an appearance at E3, and they’ve wanted to make an impression at one of the biggest gaming conventions in the world.

VoltEdge has a few affordable products that are available today, but what they wanted to showcase at this year’s E3 is their brand new wireless headset the TX70. This new headset will be packed with features that will come at a very affordable price. In today’s market, most wireless headsets would be typically priced at $100 or more, leaving gamers to buy the more traditional wired headsets, but the TX70 will give gamers a wireless version for a price of just under $60.

The TX70 will include 50mm temper tuned drivers to deliver remarkable sound and interchangeable EQ modes. High-quality athletic mesh to provide sound isolation and comfort for extended gaming sessions. A 2.4 GHz wireless signal will give gamers a low-latency signal while extending the battery life to 15 hours, and a hideaway flip-to-mute boom mic will provide crystal clear chat audio.

VoltEdge partnered up with Dysonics, an advanced audio technology company to debut a new 3D Gaming Audio Array. This first of its kind product will give gamers a three-dimensional experience by utilizing a series of small speakers that are arranged into a linear array. Through signal processing techniques, the speaker array will work together to isolate the left and right ear audio signals, which will give gamers and audiophiles an immersive audio experience that will allow them to hear sounds near, far, left, right, up, and down. This array of speakers will sit directly in front of the user and will eliminate the need to use any headphones or multiple speakers set up around the room. It’s a 3D audio array in a single form factor that can fit directly under your PC monitor.

The 3D audio array will feature Eight 30mm temper tuned drivers, built-in subwoofer, EQ and personalization setting, shared and immersive audio modes, a headphone jack that provides the same 3D rendering, and a full “off-the-ear” chat support with spatial controls. It will work with stereo, surround sound, ambisonics, and object-based audio. It’s a perfect speaker for games, movies, music, and communication.

Testing out the 3D audio array during E3 was quite fascinating. It was producing spatial audio that you would typically get with a 5.1 or 7.1 surround system, but with a speaker that was directly in front of you. Even in a loud setting such as the E3 show floor, I was still able to hear audio moving around me as if I was using a pair of headphones.

The TX70 will retail for $59.99 and will be available soon online and at participating retailers. The 3D audio array price and release date are still to be determined.
