Angeline Jolie is done playing nice in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil teaser trailer

Angelina Jolie is Maleficent in Disney’s MALEFICENT: MISTRESS OF EVIL.

Maleficent was an evil villain in the classic animated 1959 film, Sleeping Beauty. She’s also a major villain in the Kingdom Hearts franchise, plotting to cover the different Disney worlds in darkness. Disney decided to retell her story in the live-action film, Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie as a sympathetic fairy. It was definitely a different take from the animated versions.

A sequel has been in the works, and Disney has released the teaser trailer for Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. And this time, it’s looking like she’s embracing the darkness as we hear Audiomachine and Molly’s epic cover of “Season of the Witch.”

And here’s my favorite exchange between Angelina Jolie and Michelle Pfeiffer’s Queen Ingrith from the teaser trailer.

“There are many who prey on the innocent,” Maleficent said. “I’m sure your kind would agree.”

“If I didn’t know better, I’d say you’re making a threat,” Queen Ingrith replied.

“Well do you?” Maleficent asked.

“Do I what? Ingrith fired back.

“Know better,” Maleficent replied.

Synopsis: “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” is a fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora. The film continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy and the soon to be Queen as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.

The film is directed by Joachim Rønning from a story by Linda Woolverton and a screenplay by Linda Woolverton and Micah Fitzerman-Blue & Noah Harpster. It stars Angelina Jolie as Maleficent and Elle Fanning as Princess Aurora, and they are joined by Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil hits theaters on October 18, 2019.
