Amblin Partners has landed screenwriter Bryce McGuire’s (Night Swim, Whisper) The White Room, putting the project on a fast track with Rod Blackhurst (Here Alone, Amanda Knox) set to direct, Deadline has confirmed.

Described as Don’t Breathe meets Hereditary, The White Room is a female-driven thriller that takes place over the course of one night in the offseason of the remote Adirondack Mountains. The story unfolds when a mysterious young woman goes missing and it is up to a hardened local widow to find out the truth behind the disappearance, which may have been caused by something inhuman.

The Picture Company is currently in post-production on Larry for Amblin, the horror feature film version of the 2017 short film about a monster named Larry that manifests itself through smartphones and mobile devices.
