Showtime to develop horror series based on Scott Thomas’ Kill Creek
Deadline reports that Showtime is currently in the process of developing a drama series adaptation of Scott Thomas’ 2017 horror novel Kill Creek. Director Scott Derrickson will be teaming up with Underground co-creator Misha Green to executive produce the series.
Kill Creek follows the story of best-selling horror author Sam McGarver, who reluctantly agreed to spend Halloween night in one of the country’s most infamous haunted houses together with his three fellow masters of the macabre. Unfortunately, their normal Halloween night suddenly turns into a real nightmare due to an dark entity that they have awakened which will torment and threaten to make them a part of the bloody legacy of Kill Creek.
The series adaption will also be directed by Derrickson and will be written by Thomas. Adam Gomolin, Andrew Lazar (American Sniper), Green and Derrickson along with Thomas and Platform One Media’s Elisa Ellis (Narcos) are the show’s executive producers. Showtime and Platform One Media will co-produce the series.
Derrickson has directed many hit films such as: The Exorcism of Emily Rose which starred Ozark‘s Laura Linney, Jennifer Carpenter (White Chicks, Dexter) and award-winning actor Tom Wilkinson; Sinister which was co-written by Derrickson; and the MCU‘s Doctor Strange starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tilda Swinton and Rachel McAdams.
Green is currently working as a writer and showrunner in HBO’s upcoming drama series Lovecraft Country which is co-produced by Jordan Peele‘s Monkeypaw Productions and J.J. Abrams’s Bad Robot and WBTV.
