Sony gives new release dates to The Equalizer 2 and Paul, Apostle of Christ

Sony Pictures has moved two of the films on its slate. The Equalizer 2, which stars Denzel Washington, Pedro Pascal, Melissa Leo and Bill Pullman, has moved from August 3, 2018 to July 20, 2018. Earlier today, Alita: Battle Angel moved from July 20 to December and Mile 22 moved into the July 20 spot. In addition, The Equalizer 2 will be up against the sequel Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! and Generation Wealth.

The original Equalizer series was created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. It starred Edward Woodward as Robert McCall, a private detective with a lot of contacts who is available for hire if you have a problem that you don’t know how to solve.

In addition, Sony has moved Paul, Apostle of Christ from March 28, 2018 to March 23, 2018. The film is directed by Andrew Hyatt and stars Jim Caviezel and Jim Faulkner. The story covers Paul, portrayed by Faulkner, going from the most infamous persecutor of Christians to Jesus Christ’s most influential apostle. The new release date will put it up against Pacific Rim UprisingMidnight SunSherlock GnomesIsle of DogsUnsane and Final Portrait.
