2018 Pokémon NA and World Championships dates and locations announced

The Pokémon Company International today announced the dates and locations for two major competitive Pokémon tournaments in 2018. The Pokémon North America International Championships will take place July 6–8 in Columbus, Ohio. This year’s Pokémon World Championships will be held August 24–26 in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Greater Columbus Convention Center will once again be home to the Pokémon North America International Championships in July. A global event with no residency restrictions, this tournament provides Pokémon TCG and video game players with a final opportunity to earn valuable Championship Points and secure an invitation to the 2018 Pokémon World Championships.

The very best Pokémon players from around the globe will then gather at the Music City Center in Nashville from August 24–26 to compete in the 2018 Pokémon World Championships. The pinnacle of the year of competitive Pokémon play, the Pokémon World Championships are a celebration of all things Pokémon and the dedication of the competitors who have worked hard to make it to the Championships. To qualify, Pokémon TCG and video game Trainers must battle at Championship Series events throughout the season and receive enough Championship Points to earn an invitation. Winners will receive the title of World Champion and a share of the $500,000 prize pool.
