Here’s your chance to own a Centipede mini arcade cabinet

Centipede replicade mini arcade cabinet

Centipede is a classic arcade game during the ’80s, and now you can finally get the chance to own one. Oh, you don’t want to fork over hundreds or thousands of dollars? Well, there’s the next best thing… the RepliCade X Centipede mini arcade cabinet.

The 12″ tall wooden arcade cabinet is officially licensed by Atari and produced by New Wave Toys. It contains the original arcade ROM encased in a 1/6 scale wood and metal cabinet that captures the look of the original right down to the control layout and the arcade artwork.

Here’s the spec:

  • 3.5″ LCD screen in vertical orientation (4:3 aspect ratio)
  • Lithium ion rechargeable battery
  • LED back lighting
  • RepliCade high-performance chipset for smooth, lag-free gameplay

The Kickstarter is currently live and it has reached its goal of $50,000. You can pledge at its Kickstarter page and get it for $90. After that, it will be sold at its regular price of $160 at New Wave Toys website and at select retailers worldwide starting in mid-2018.

I had the chance to test this out during IndieCade 2017, and it’s the cutest thing in the world. It will definitely make you think of Zoolander with its quote, “What is this? A center for ants?” Except it’s more like an arcade cabinet for a badger. Yes, badgers need some arcade love too.

The RepliCade Centipede mini arcade cabinet will be shipping in Spring 2018.
