Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship series Anaheim sees over 1,700 duelists enter

It’s that time of year again when the Yu-Gi-Oh! Championship series returns to Southern California as duelists from all over attended in hopes of becoming the top player. Held last weekend, YCS Anaheim saw over 1,700 duelists register, making it the third largest event held in North America. While not everyone who signed up would make it to day two, there were also side events held throughout the two-day event from Attack of the Giant Card, Pegasus Tournaments with special rulings, team tournaments and more.

Everyone who registered got to take home a special mat just for playing in the main tournament. For those who couldn’t make the event, Konami also live-streamed matches from both days on the official Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG channel on Youtube which you can watch to see what decks did the best.

For new or seasoned players, always fun to attend these events in person. You have a chance to play a variety of decks, trade with other players and more importantly, learn more than you could be yourself or at a local event with so many people there. It’s also exciting to be able to watch the finals in person with a large crowd and see just who will become the YCS champion with the top players taking some really cool stuff home.
