Ubisoft announces Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint as next Ghost Recon game

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Ubisoft has released the announce trailer for Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint, the next military shooter in the Ghost Recon franchise. It’s the successor to Ghost Recon Wildlands, the huge open world where you can team up with three of your friends as you take on the Santa Blanca Drug Cartel in Bolivia. In addition to the announce trailer, the video game company has also released the walkthrough video that gives you a look at the actual gameplay complete with teamwork.

The announce trailer is a cinematic CG trailer that shows off the feeling of being in the action with firefights, car chases, drones, and more.

Check out the official gameplay walkthrough that shows off the survival aspect of the game. It looks to be adding more realism where being injured will slow you down, and you’ll need to heal yourself with medical kits. Of course, being a silent predator is the name of the game, and you’ll have to maneuver the area like a ninja while dispatching enemies. Teamwork is also back, and communicating with your online friends will be just as important just like in Ghost Recon Wildlands.

In Ghost Recon Breakpoint, you play as a Ghost, an elite spec ops soldier who will face your own brothers-in-arms. The Wolves is an ex-US military unit that used to be Ghosts, and they have taken over the drones from the Auroa island. Leading the unit is Colonel Cole D. Walker, your former teammate.

Things are going bad as a Ghost since you’re injured and lost in Auroa with no help, and you’re being hunted down by ex-Ghosts. The setting will be different from the Bolivia setting in Wildlands. Auroa is the home of Skell Technology, a big Silicon Valley company, and you can explore the area by air, land and sea. The setting will be diverse with technological buildings, swamps, snowy peaks, and high fjords.

Character customization is back, along with customizing your weapons and gear.

For online, there will be a new Social HUB where you can play the campaign with your friends in four-player co-op or compete in 4v4 matches. Healing yourself and your teammate will be even harder since you’ll need to go to a safe place. You can also play the campaign by yourself. Ubisoft also plans to update the game years after launch with new stories, features, classes and Raids.

Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint will be available on October 4, 2019, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. You can get access to the beta by pre-ordering the game now.
