Remember the craze of Magic Eye in the ’90s? I remember looking at these in the back of cereal boxes, and they look like colorful patterns to the naked eye. However, if you cross your eyes at a certain distance, you’ll see a hidden message or image in 3D. These were featured in films like Kevin Smith’s Mallrats where Ethan Suplee as Willam was trying really hard to see the hidden image. Well, Marvel is bringing back the craze with new Captain Marvel Magic Eye images.
Marvel has posted a few Magic Eye images, each presenting something from the upcoming Captain Marvel film. Can you see what it is?
Magic Eye #1
The image above features the Captain Marvel symbol in all its glory.
Magic Eye #2
With the above Magic Eye, the color green and the image of Ben Mendelsohn as Talos are already hinting of the Skrulls. If you cross your eyes, you’ll see the silhouette of a Skrull.
Magic Eye #3
Even though Goose the Cat is seen here, what we see are sunglasses.
Magic Eye #4
The hint for this one is an easy one with Samuel L. Jackson on the top right. This Magic Eye reveals a silhouette of Nick Fury with his trenchcoat.
Magic Eye #5
For the last one, we have an image of Captain Marvel with her mask and mohawk.
The hype for Captain Marvel is strong with presales doing better than Wonder Woman and Aquaman. The film has been the topic of controversy when angry fans went to Rotten Tomatoes to badmouth the film due to her comment about there being a lot of white men at the press events. This resulted in the aggregated review site to change its audience section where they can’t comment on the film until the film’s release date.
Synopsis: The story follows Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Set in the 1990s, “Captain Marvel” is an all-new adventure from a previously unseen period in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The film is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and written by Boden, Fleck, Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Jac Schaeffer from a story by Nicole Perlman (Guardians of the Galaxy), Joe Shrapnel, and Anna Waterhouse. It stars Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as Talos, Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Lee Pace as Ronin, Lashana Lynch as Maria Rambeau, Gemma Chan as Minn-Erva, Algenis Perez Soto as Att-Lass, Rune Temte as Bron-Char, McKenna Grace as young Carol Danvers, Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson and Jude Law as the Starforce Commander.
Captain Marvel flies into theaters on March 8, 2019.
