Fans upset about lack of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones in Men in Black: International trailer

Men in Black: International

Yes, we’re getting a new Men in Black movie titled Men in Black: International, and it’s directed by F. Gary Gray (Straight Outta Compton, The Fate of the Furious) and stars Chris Hemsworth (Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War) and Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok, HBO’s Westworld). A new trailer is out, and we’re introduced to new characters and new problems.

Sorry, fans of Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, but we’ll be getting Hemsworth and Thompson in the new film. If you liked pairing in Thor: Ragnarok, then this should definitely be a treat for you. Thompson is a character itching to become a member of the MiB, and as Agent M, she’ll be partnered up with Hemsworth’s Agent H, a highly skilled agent. Hemsworth got to really bust out his comedic chops in Thor: Ragnarok, and it looks like we’ll get the same here based on the trailer.

Of course, fans of the Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones pairing have shown their dissatisfaction:

What’s funny is that there’s a group that loves Will Smith and wants him back in Men in Black, and then there’s another group that doesn’t like him because of his role as Genie in the live-action Aladdin film. What’s the lesson? There will be people who hate changes. However, if the movie and the actor does a good job, then people will embrace it. Just look at Christian Bale as Batman and Heath Ledger as Joker.

Synopsis: The Men in Black have always protected the Earth from the scum of the universe. In this new adventure, they tackle their biggest, most global threat to date: a mole in the Men in Black organization.

The film is directed by F. Gary Gray from a script by Art Marcum & Matt Holloway. It’s based on the Malibu Comic by Lowell Cunningham. It stars Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Rebecca Ferguson (The Greatest Showman, Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Kumail Nanjiani (Silicon Valley), Rafe Spall (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom), Laurent Bourgeois, Larry Bourgeois, Emma Thompson (Saving Mr. Banks) and Liam Neeson (Batman Begins, Taken).

Men in Black: International hits theaters on June 14, 2019.
