Anisong World Matsuri concert returns to Anime Expo with brand new lineup

Ever wanted to hear your favorite anime song performed live? Well, anime fans will be in luck as Anisong World Matsuri will be returning to Anime Expo this year with a star-studded lineup of the hottest talent west of the Pacific.

For the unaware, Anisong World Matsuri is a music festival held at the largest anime convention in the States, Anime Expo in Los Angeles, California. Many of the artists that perform are heavy hitters in the Japanese music industry. It’s one of the few times that anime fans in the West can see their favorite singers and bands perform onstage live.

The festival consists of two concerts that will be held on Day 0 and Day 1 of Anime Expo at the Microsoft Theater in Downtown Los Angeles.

Anisong World Matsuri Day 0

The first day dubbed ANISONG WORLD MATSURI ~JAPAN KAWAII LIVE~ will feature several popular anime idol groups including:

• THE IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls
  (Asami Takano, Haruka Yoshimura, Hiromi Igarashi, Tomoyo Kurosawa, Rei Matsuzaki, Yuko Iida)

• Aqours
  (Inami Anju, Saito Shuka, Furihata Ai, Kobayashi Arisa, Aida Rikako, Nanaka Suwa, Suzuki Aina, Kanako Takatsuki)

• Wake Up Girls! (Mayu Yoshioka, Airi Eino, Miniami Tanaka, Yoshino Aoyama, Nanami Yamashita, Miyu Takagi)

• JUNNA and Minori Suzuki of Walkure 

Man what an insane lineup. Wake Ups Girl and Aqours have both previously appeared in the States. Cinderella Girls actually has over 30 members and this is only a small group that will attend. However, they and Walkure will make their US concert premiere right here in the States!

Anisong World Matsuri Day 1

The second day will feature popular J-pop and anime artists:

These artists have songs featured in popular anime series such as No Game No Life, Kill La Kill, Re:Zero, Knights of Sidonia, and Rozen Maiden to just name a few.

Last year’s inaugural Anisong World Matsuri brought us the likes of legendary anime song group JAM Project, as well as minami, Eir Aoi, Haruna Luna, FLOW, OLDCODEX, T.M. Revolution, Yoko Ishida, and Sphere!
