Two of Reki Kawahara’s series characters and worlds have begun to collide in Accel World vs Sword Art Online to create a completely new original story. After an event begins causing the two worlds to merge, Yui goes missing. Now Kirito and friends must challenge the Seven Kings of Pure Color in order to find her. The AW vs SAO hands-off demo looks to play closer to SAO: Lost Song; however, the combat has a faster paced due to the inclusion of Accel World characters.
Gameplay will include both air and ground as expected with the inclusion of Svart Alfheim (SAO’s world). You will be able to recruit and build 3-man teams of your favorite characters from both animes to help you on your journey to save Yui. There are new switch mechanics for swapping out your controlled character, and you can combo with a teammate and pile on bonus damage. Online play will be returning with 4-player online co-op through the campaign, as well as new competitive modes to challenge all your friends.
Accel World vs. Sword Art Online is scheduled to release in the summer of 2017 as a digital release for PS4 and PS Vita.
