New Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue delves deeper into Aqua’s story

Next month, Square Enix will release Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. It includes an HD remake of Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, Kingdom Hearts χ [chi] Back Cover and KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –. The latter featured Aqua, who first appeared in Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep.

Square Enix has released a new trailer for the compilation title which showcases more of KINGDOM HEARTS 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A fragmentary passage –. In the trailer, Aqua is accompanied by King Mickey as she fights through an army of heartless. She even comes across her friends Terra and Ventus.

The game is set for release on January 24, 2017. Square Enix will also release a PlayStation 4 version of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Remix in March.

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue is the final update leading to the heavily anticipated Kingdom Hearts 3 which hasn’t had any information released for some time now. They game has no set release date, hopefully, we will hear more about the title soon.

Square Enix also announced a limited edition Kingdom Hearts 15th anniversary PlayStation 4 that will be available in Japan in January. The system will be available in two different model, a 500 GB version which will retail for  33,980 ¥ (around $297) and a 1TB model for 38,980 ¥  (around $341).

No word if the system will be released outside of Japan. Luckily PlayStation 4 systems are region free.
