In Season 2, The Boys are on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon), and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social-media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The Boys is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about the supergroup known as “The Seven.” The show retains most of the comics (available for purchase here) boundary-pushing violence and sexuality while exploring the dark side of superhero celebrity and fame.

The series was created by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen, who are responsible for another subversive comic book-inspired series, AMC’s Preacher, and Supernatural creator Eric Kripke.

Season 1 is available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

ComingSoon.net: Will we see more of Frenchie’s backstory this season?

Tomer Capon: Definitely, definitely. I’m thrilled for everybody that loves Frenchie to get a sneak peek to his journey from the past and we actually get to find out a lot of stuff. Why did he get himself in The Boys, how did he get inside The Boys? Of course, we’re going to open up the whole Mallory thing that we touched upon a little bit that traumatized him in the first season, we didn’t get a lot of it except that something happened with her grandchildren and that Pandora’s Box is going to be opened in season 2. And we’ve got Kimiko here, who is just making a lot of trouble for

Frenchie this season and is definitely making him deal with himself and his traumas and grow as a human being.

CS: Could Kimiko and Frenchie’s dynamic into something more than a friendship?

Capon: We’re gonna have to wait and see.

Karen Fukuhara: We’re going to have to wait and see. Tomer and I have talked about this a lot, but even in the comics the two characters are not exactly romantic or sexual, it’s pretty open-ended. I think in maybe the last chapter or book, we find Frenchie says something like, ‘It’s always been you.’

Capon: He just heard it in a movie he saw.

Fukuhara: It didn’t mean anything [laughs].

Capon: I do want to say a little something about that we’re going to find out in season two is definitely about Frenchie’s sexuality. I’m not positive who he loves, if female is the right word or not, Frenchie loves everything, who knows what’s going to happen.

CS: Going into the second season, will we get to see Frenchie more involved in the fights?

Capon: You know those family members where any time you’re with them you’re getting into trouble? That’s kind of how Frenchie is, the troubled teenager of the family, but I don’t know how any time he gets in trouble it’s because of a different member of the family. Most of the time it’s because of Kimiko or father Billy Butcher or uncle Mother’s Milk, let’s say I’ve got a crazy action sequence with Mother’s Milk in season two. I know the whale is a big deal, but I think we’re going to surprise you. I don’t even know how to hint it to you.

Fukuhara: I love how you call that an action sequence.

Capon: It’s an action sequence, someone’s getting choked. I’m definitely going to have the most bizarre action sequence of the season.
