Doom Patrol Season 2 Episode 8 Recap
In the previous episode of DC Universe’s Doom Patrol, the Doom Patrol survived a scant infestation, and Clara arrived at the manor. In Doom Patrol Season 2 Episode 8, Jane went in search for Kay’s stuffed animal, Rita and Vic teamed up, and Dorothy hit puberty.
The Well
While in the Underground, Jane questioned the Alters’ disappearances, and Miranda suggested that Scarlet Harlot and Lucy Fugue moved on because Kay was beginning to heal. Kay wanted Harry, her favorite stuffed animal. She had lost it in the real well that her abusive father forced her to stay in as punishment.
Jane was determined to retrieve Harry for Kay and brought Larry with her. She found the stuffed animal hidden with a note from Miranda to the father. She had left it for him before climbing out of the well herself. Back in the Underground, Jane decided to fall in line with Miranda after all and gave Harry to her to give to Kay. Miranda threw both Harry and Jane in the Underground well.
Nasty Red Dragon
At a gas station, Niles let Dorothy go into a store by herself while he called Willoughby on a peanut butter cup burner phone. He wanted to move up the timeline, but Niles insisted that he needed his time with her. Inside the gas station, Dorothy discovered she had gotten her period for the first time. She hadn’t known what it was, but the gas station clerk came to talk to her. Outside, Niles let Dorothy choose their fun activity; she wanted to go to the county fair.
At the fair, Dorothy saw a spirit telling her that it was time. She thought her mother would appear to her, but it was the Candlemaker. Niles coughed up blood to signify his time running out. The consequences of Dorothy’s aging were clear as the people at the fair screamed and the treats in Dorothy’s hands melted.
The Living Years
Clara told Cliff that she was getting married to a woman named Mel. She feared it wouldn’t work out just like the rest of the marriages in her family. Cliff made her breakfast and accidentally cooked the finger with the sausages. Still, he was able to give her solid, encouraging advice. Cliff fixed up her car, and Clara invited him to the wedding. She told him that the baby was going to be a boy.
Beekeeper and Borg
Invigorated from stopping the mugger, Rita wanted to join Vic in his crime fighting. It took them to Detroit. They investigated the murder of the head of the Department of Normalcy. The FBI was on the hunt for Roni, who had been caught on security footage. Vic left without Rita to confront Roni, who had consumed some Uma Jelly. Eventually, Vic aimed his arm at her. As Roni left, Rita arrived but didn’t stop her.
