The streamer has been in talks with Warner Bros. TV about a Season 6 and executive producers Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson already closed new deals for a new season. The outlet also notes that the rest of the Lucifer cast are also on board for another installment should Netflix decide to renew.

Lucifer tells the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne. He then retired to Los Angeles, where he teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals. Fox abruptly canceled the show after its third season, but it was saved by Netflix for a fourth and fifth season.

The series, based on the comic book characters created by Neil Gaiman for DC’s Vertigo Imprint, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Kevin Alejandro.

The series is vaguely based on characters created by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo, from DC Entertainment. Additionally, Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman, Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson are the executive producers. Len Wiseman serves as director and executive producer, while Kapinos serves as an executive consultant on the series.

Season 5 of Lucifer is still without a premiere date but it is expected to hit Netflix somewhere in 2020.
