Timothy Olyphant’s The Mandalorian character details revealed

Though he filmed his scenes in the armor, he will not be taking over the role as Temuera Morrison has been confirmed to return to the iconic bounty hunter role he originated in Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones, but rather will appear as Cobb Vanth, a character introduced in Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath book series. Vanth is the self-appointed sheriff of the Tatooine-based settlement Freetown, in which he wears a mysterious set of Mandalorian armor that was acquired from Jawas who scavenged the wreckage of Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge shortly after the events of Return of the Jedi.

While its currently unclear if these character details will carry over to the second season of The Mandalorian, especially as Morrison’s Boba Fett is returning for the next chapter in the titular bounty hunter’s journey, much of his backstory was left mysterious in the books that the series could help clarify.

Recent revelations of the second season of The Mandalorian have revealed that the returns of Temuera Morrison (Aquaman) as Boba Fett, Katee Sackhoff as The Clone Wars‘ Bo-Katan in live-action form and will reportedly feature the live-action debut of Jedi Padawan turned Rebel Alliance spymaster Ahsoka Tano with Rosario Dawson (Zombieland: Double Tap) in talks to portray the fan-favorite character, though the star recently confirmed that the deal is not yet sealed on the part.

In addition to the announce of Boba Fett joining the character roster, multiple directors recently confirmed their involvement on the new season, including Robert Rodriguez (Alita: Battle Angel) and Ant-Man franchise director Peyton Reed, who joined the that already includes the returns of Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Dave Filoni, Carl Weathers and Jon Favreau (The Lion King).
