Inside the latest “Spring Fever” issue of Underground Nation Magazine they did an in-depth variant cover story with Reel Life Productions alumni, Daniel Jordan. Inside the interview they asked Mr. Jordan if the rumors are true behind an official Esham and Daniel Jordan full length record dropping.
Here is what Daniel Jordan had to say:
Underground Nation Magazine: Congratulations on once again appearing on an official Reel Life Productions release. Can we dive into the details behind the Esham track “Magical Thinking” and how you brought forth your own heat inside the banger?
Daniel Jordan: Truth be told it was a song that I wrote as a single for the “American Paranoia” album that I never did anything with. DJ Ghost made me a great beat and I let Esham hear it and he wanted to drop a verse for it. I look at that as a offering to the game. Paying it forward.The song is quite interesting and it was a topic that I had fun playing around with. Talking about being so paranoid that you don’t want to leave the house. You could see how it was fitting for “American Paranoia”? But it had a comedic feel to it which I didn’t feel fit the album at the time.
Underground Nation Magazine: Are the rumors true behind a full on Esham and Daniel Jordan LP? If that were to happen; would it be a concept record? What would you personally what the concept to be?
Daniel Jordan: That’s an idea me and him have kicked around for years now. We have an inside joke about the Blue Brothers. All Esham has to do is give me a call and tell me “we’re getting the band back together“ and the next thing you know we attack the game as a powerful unit. Him and I are the modern-day Blues Brothers in every sense of the word. Individually we are masters of our craft, and we bring the blues to the world in a modern way.
Wow! Hopefully it actually comes to fruition! Esham and Daniel Jordan always slay tracks together!
