Skeet Ulrich & Marisol Nichols departing Riverdale
Last year saw the untimely death of Luke Perry (Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), leading to his necessary write-off from The CW’s hit teen drama Riverdale, and now the series is seeing the departure of two more parents with Skeet Ulrich (Scream) and Marisol Nichols (Spiral) exiting ahead of the fifth season, according to TV Guide.

Ulrich starred as FP Jones, father to Jughead (Cole Sprouse), while Nichols portrayed Hermione Lodge, mother to Veronica (Camila Mendes), and though both saw more positive arcs this past season, with the former seeing a strong redemption arc while the latter was able to reconcile with her family.
“I’m proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind,” Ulrich said in a statement. “But I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities.”
“I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family,” Nichols said in a statement, also mentioning she’s looking forward to the next chapter.
“Part of life in Riverdale — and part of growing up — is saying goodbye to people,” showrunner Robert Aguirre-Sacasa said. “F.P. and Hermione will never be far from our hearts. And, of course, they’re always welcome back in Riverdale.”
KJ Apa stars as Archie Andrews in the series along with Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper, Mendes as Veronica Lodge, Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy, Sprouse as Jughead Jones and Madelaine Petsch as Cheryl Blossom. The series also stars Mark Consuelos, Casey Cott, Ulrich, Mädchen Amick, and Vanessa Morgan.

Based on the characters from Archie Comics, Riverdale hails from Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Jon Goldwater.
The fourth season is set to return on Wednesday night!
