Paul Feig’s 1970s comedy series Minx gets pilot order at HBO Max

According to Deadline, HBO Max has officially given a pilot order to executive producer Paul Feig’s newest half-hour comedy series titled Minx, which hails from writer Ellen Rapoport. This marks Feig’s second collaboration with the upcoming streaming service as he is also currently an executive producer on the romantic anthology series Love Life starring Anna Kendrick.

Set in 1970s Los Angeles, Minx will follow the story of an earnest young feminist who joins forces with a low-rent publisher to create the first erotic magazine for women. The series will be written by Rapoport, who is known as the co-scriber for Paramount Pictures’ upcoming live-action film adaptation of Clifford the Big Red Dog which is set for release this coming November.

The comedy series will be executive produced by Rapoport along with Paul Feig and Dan Magnante through Feigco Entertainment banner. This project will be part of Feigco’s overall deal with Lionsgate Television, who is set as the studio.

Feig’s recent writing and directing credits include A Simple Favor, Ghostbusters, Spy, The Heat, Bridesmaids, The Office and the most recent one the romance comedy Last Christmas, starring Emilia Clarke, Emma Thompson, and Henry Golding, and the TV movie Girls Code. He will also be producing a number of upcoming titles, including HBO Max’s Love Life, Universal’s When Michael Met Carrie…and Other People, and 20th Century Fox’s American Princess.
