Micro Mayhem: Jon Favreau & Seth Green to produce Quibi’s stop-motion animated series

According to Deadline, Quibi has officially given a series order to Eric Towner’s upcoming stop-motion animated series titled Micro Mayhem with The Mandalorian creator Jon Favreau and Family Guy star Seth Green attached as executive producers. This project will be Green and Towner’s latest stop-motion series as they are both working together on Adult Swim’s Emmy-winning sketch comedy Robot Chicken.

“Micro Mayhem brings to life the car chases I imagined as a kid, and combines my love of technology and stop-motion artistry,” Towner said in statement. We’re thrilled to be teaming with Golem Creations to bring this dream project to life.”

“Quibi’s focus on micro storytelling provides the perfect platform for Micro Mayhem. We are excited to work with Eric and his team at Stoopid Buddy Stoodios, to bring this wild ride to audiences one turn at a time,” eOne’s Senior Vice President of New Platforms and Strategic Partnerships, Film and Television, Greg Clayman said.

Based on the original viral short of the same name by Towner and John Harvatine IV, Micro Mayhem combines miniature filmmaking and stop-motion artistry in a wild (and comically violent) ride like no other where the cars are the characters. Each episode, the cars set the stage with an immense amount of attitude and personality in the dialogue-free grindhouse action series.

The series is created by Eric Towner, who is also set as an executive producer along with the Robot Chicken team consists of Seth Green, Harvatine, and Matt Senreich. Jon Favreau will be executive producing through his Golem Creations banner with Chris Waters also serving as an executive producer. It is a co-production by Stoopid Buddy Studios and eOne.

Quibi, which is short for “Quick Bites” is scheduled to have its launch on April 6, 2020, with already more than a billion dollars raised from its investors. It has a number of projects currently in development. Guillermo del Toro, Sam Raimi, Catherine Hardwick, Steven Spielberg, Paul Feig, Anna Kendrick, Laurence Fishburne, and Don Cheadle are eight of the many producers and talents who are working hard on the production of the said projects

The streaming service, founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg and Meg Whitman, is set to feature series that run two to four hours in length and are broken down into parts that are no longer than 10 minutes in length.
