Wonder Woman 1984 trailer features glorious Golden Eagle armor with wings

Warner Bros. has released the trailer for Wonder Woman 1984, and it’s definitely a love letter to the ’80s. New Order’s “Blue Monday is featured along with an orchestral version of the song. In addition to the new trailer, four characters posters have been revealed including Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Kristen Wiig as Cheeta, and Pedro Pascal as Maxwell.

The ’80s have been making a comeback in entertainment with films like Ready Player One and series like Netflix’s Stranger Things. What’s intriguing about the new trailer of Wonder Woman 1984 is the return of Pine as Steve Trevor. In the first Wonder Woman film, he sacrificed his life in order to save lives. How did he survive, and why is he in the year 1984?

The trailer features plenty of action, and with the cast, it seems like it will be a lighter affair, especially with performances from Wiig. We also get a better look at Pascal as Maxwell Lord, who’s an entrepreneur in the DC comics and has appeared in live-action series including The CW’s Smallville and Supergirl.

To top it all off, we see a glimpse of Wonder Woman’s new outfit, the Golden Eagle armor complete with wings. In the comics, the outfit makes her even stronger and gives her the power of flight.

Themyscira is an island paradise, and fans should be happy to see that it will be making an appearance again. However, it will most likely be a flashback sequence since it looks like we get to see a young Diana compete in different obstacle courses. One obstacle course features the Amazonians running as fast as they can, and another has the athletes jumping from pole to pole to hone in on their agility and balancing.
