The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Season 3 Premiere: In Season 3, Midge and Susie discover that life on tour with Shy is glamorous but humbling, and they learn a lesson about show business they’ll never forget. Joel struggles to support Midge while pursuing his own dreams. Abe embraces a new mission and Rose learns she has talents of her own. The critically-acclaimed series will return on Friday, December 6.

V-Wars, Series Premiere: Ian Somerhalder returns to the world of vampires in Netflix’s sci-fi horror series adaptation. Somerhalder stars as Dr. Luther Swann who tries to stop his best friend’s plans of turning every human into a vampire. Based on best-selling author Jonathan Maberry’s comic series, the show will debut on Thursday, December 5.

The Confession Killer, Series Premiere: Netflix’s five-part documentary series explores Henry Lee Lucas, who was once called America’s most prolific serial killer, having confessed to hundreds of murders, who was really a complex figure entangled with a flawed justice system during the early ’80s. The series will begin streaming on Friday, December 6.

Reprisal, Series Premiere: The revenge drama series starring Abigail Spencer is a hyper-noir revenge tale following a relentless femme fatale who, after being left for dead, leads a vengeful campaign against a bombastic gang of gearheads. Created by executive producer and showrunner Josh Corbin, the series will premiere on Friday, December 6.

Apple TV+

Truth Be Told, Series Premiere: Oscar winner Octavia Spencer stars in Apple’s new drama series where when new evidence compels podcaster Poppy Parnell to reopen the murder case that made her a national sensation, she comes face to face with Warren Cave, the man she may have mistakenly helped to put behind bars. Her investigation navigates urgent concerns about privacy, media, and race. Also starring Emmy winner Aaron Paul and Emmy nominee Lizzy Caplan, the series will debut on Friday, December 6.

Showtime

The L Word: Generation Q, Series Premiere: Featuring the return of original L Word characters Bette, Shane, and Alice as well as new characters, Generation Q takes place 10 years following the original series’ finale. In the 8-episode sequel, Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig, and Leisha Hailey will resume their original roles alongside a new generation of diverse, self-possessed LGBTQIA characters experiencing love, heartbreak, sex, setbacks and success in L.A. The series will premiere on Sunday, December 8, and will be available to stream on Showtime’s website.

First Wives Club, Season 2: BET has renewed Tracy Oliver’s series that helped launch the new BET+ streaming platform for a second season! The show follows best friends Ari (Ryan Michelle Bathe), Hazel (Jill Scott), and Bree (Michelle Buteau) who reunite to help each other through rough patches in their lives. Together, they navigate music superstar Hazel’s tabloid-ridden divorce, campaign manager Ari’s unsatisfying marriage to her political candidate husband, and orthopedic surgeon Bree’s cheating husband. Tired of always being the ones to make sacrifices in their lives, Ari, Hazel, and Bree vow to prioritize their friendship and have more fun. Along the way, the women learn that as long as they have each other, there’s nothing they can’t do. The first season is available to stream now on BET+.

Shetland: BBC One has announced that its murder mystery drama has been renewed for two more series. The show follows Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall), a detective inspector who investigates murders for the Shetland police force. The fifth series premiered in February, with series six and seven scheduled to begin filming in 2020 and 2021. The first five series of the show can be streamed on BritBox.
