Inspired by a shocking true story, a tenacious attorney (Ruffalo) uncovers a dark secret that connects a growing number of unexplained deaths due to one of the world’s largest corporations. In the process, he risks everything – his future, his family, and his own life – to expose the truth.
Joining Mark Ruffalo (Spotlight) in the film’s ensemble cast is Anne Hathaway (Les Misérables), Tim Robbins (Mystic River), Bill Camp (Joker), Victor Garber (Argo), Mare Winningham (The Affair), William Jackson Harper (The Good Place), Bill Pullman (The Sinner).
Dark Waters is based on Nathaniel Rich’s New York Times Magazine article “The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare.”

The film was written by Matthew Carnahan (House of Lies) and Mario Correa with Oscar-nominated director Todd Haynes (Carol) helming the project.
