Variety is reporting that HBO Max is developing a new anthology series titled Point Horror, based on the Scholastic book series.

Jon M. Chu (Crazy Rich Asians, In the Heights, Now You See Me 2) will direct and executive produce the series. Famed author R.L. Stine, who also wrote many books for the series, is also attached to executive produce alongside Yvonne M. Bernard. The project comes from Picturestart and Lionsgate Television. Ryan Lindenberg will oversee the project for Picturestart, which has an overall deal with the studio.

Feature adaptations of Stine’s Fear Street books are also in the works, following the television adaptations of Goosebumps, The Nightmare Room, and Eye Candy, as well as the 2015 Goosebumps movie starring Jack Black.
