Mindhunter Season 3 will have to wait for David Fincher to finish his next project

Here’s some bittersweet news. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the third season of the terrific Netflix drama Mindhunter will have to wait for series creator David Fincher to finish his latest film. And while it’s always a good day when Fincher directs a film… Mindhunter is really, really good. Don’t fret too much. Fincher has stated he expects the series to last at least five seasons. He just has to finish Mank, his upcoming biopic on Citizen Kane screenwriter Herman Mankiewicz, first.

In Mindhunter, two FBI agents (Jonathan Groff and Holt McCallany) set out on a sinister investigative odyssey to discover the brutal answers. In addition to the Atlanta Child Murders — which took place between 1979 and 1981 — the new season covers Son of Sam and the reappearance of the BTK Killer.
