South Park renewed for another three seasons at Comedy Central

South Park has officially been renewed for another three seasons at Comedy Central, Entertainment Weekly has confirmed. The long-running adult-animated series will now have 26 seasons, at the very least, with 327 episodes.

The 30-episode renewal announcement was made before the Season 23 premiere on September 25. This upcoming season will mark the series’ 300th episode.

South Park, co-created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, follows a group of unruly Colorado kids, Cartman, Kenny, Stan, and Kyle, along with their outrageous and colorful town, through all of their foul-mouthed adventures — while never shying away from controversial social and political topics.

“Apparently, our efforts to get our own show canceled have fallen short,” said Parker and Stone. “Luckily, we love Comedy Central and Kent and our staff so we are looking forward to new cancellation opportunities in the next few years.”

Comedy Central president Kent Alterman added that they “will do as many seasons as they would like.”

Named “One of the All-Time Greatest TV Shows” by Entertainment Weekly and one of the “All-TIME 100 TV Shows” by TIME, Parker and Stone will continue to write, direct, and voice act every episode of the Emmy and Peabody Award-winning series as they have since the premiere of the series in 1997. Hulu is the exclusive streaming home of the entire South Park library and will also remain the SVOD home to all episodes from upcoming seasons.

South Park premiered on August 13, 1997. Parker, Stone, Anne Garefino and Frank C. Agnone II are the Executive Producers of the series. Eric Stough, Adrien Beard, Bruce Howell, and Vernon Chatman serve as producers.
