Based on the comic book series of the same name created by Kirkman and Jason Howard, the story opens with two scientists discovering a hole in the Earth that led to a secret inner area home to living dinosaurs along with a valuable deposit of rocks containing solar power known as DynOre, but after one of the scientists tried to evolve a Tyrannosaurus into a mech-suit wearing weapon that he could use to take over the world, he was stopped by his fellow scientist, Doctor Dynamo. Now, the doctor’s son Max works with the altered T-Rex to protect the Earth and the dinosaurs’ home from various threats, including the return of the evil scientist Max Maximus.

The CG-animated series was developed by Kevin Burke (Ultimate Spider-Man) and Chris Wyatt (Star Wars Resistance) and produced by Spin Master Entertainment, Atomic Cartoons and Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, launching in 2018, but will now make its way to Amazon Studios beginning October 6 as part of the first look deal between Amazon and Skybound.

“Jason Howard and I created Super Dinosaur as something all kids would enjoy as much as our own kids do,” Robert Kirkman said in a statement. “In doing so we were able to craft a world as immersive and engaging as the world of The Walking Dead… but for kids! Our partners at Spin Master have helped Skybound prepare this world for a mass-audience and I’m so happy this series has landed at Amazon where I know it will thrive.”
