Showtime announces fall premieres for Shameless, Kidding & Ray Donovan

Fans will only have to wait a few more months for the return of their favorite Showtime dramas Ray Donovan and Shameless as well as the sophomore outing of the Jim Carrey-starring hit Kidding as the network has announced November premiere dates for the next installments of the three series, according to Variety.

As season six of Ray Donovan progresses, Ray’s (Liev Schreiber) journey in New York has been fueled by his subconscious need for help. After his life was saved by a Staten Island cop named Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), Ray must navigate the complicated debts and emotions that grew out of that relationship while also trying to save the mayoral campaign of Anita Novak (Lola Glaudini), the favored candidate of Sam Winslow (Susan Sarandon). On the family front, Mickey (Voight) is on a mission to hunt down Ray to seek revenge and Ray struggles to cope after Bridget (Kerris Dorsey) tells him that she must break away from her father and the havoc his life has brought.

A Showtime production, Ray Donovan also stars Golden Globe winner Jon Voight, Eddie Marsan (The World’s End), Dash Mihok (Before I Wake), Katherine Moennig (Three Rivers), Pooch Hall (The Game), Kerris Dorsey (Moneyball), Devon Bagby (Broken Ghost), and Graham Rogers (Quantico), with Oscar winner and multiple Emmy-nominated actress Sarandon.

Ray Donovan is executive produced by David Hollander, Mark Gordon, Bryan Zuriff and Lou Fusaro, and was created by Ann Biderman, and its seventh season will premiere on November 17 at 8 p.m. EST.

In season nine of Shameless, political fervor hits the South Side, and the Gallaghers take justice into their own hands. Frank (William H. Macy) sees financial opportunity in campaigning and decides to give voice to the underrepresented South Side working man. Fiona (Emmy Rossum) tries to build on her success with her apartment building and takes an expensive gamble hoping to catapult herself into the upper echelon. Lip (Jeremy Allen White) distracts himself from the challenges of sobriety by taking in Eddie’s niece, Xan (Amirah Johnson). Ian (Cameron Monaghan) faces the consequences of his crimes as the Gay Jesus movement takes a destructive turn. Debbie (Emma Kenney) fights for equal pay and combats harassment, and her efforts lead her to an unexpected realization. Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) sets his sights on West Point and prepares himself for cadet life. Liam (Christian Isaiah) must develop a new skillset to survive outside of his cushy private school walls. Kevin (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton) juggle the demands of raising the twins with running the Alibi as they attempt to transform the bar into a socially conscious business.

Season 10 of Shameless will premiere on November 3 at 9 p.m. EST.

Kidding centers on Jeff, aka Mr. Pickles (Carrey), an icon of children’s television and a beacon of kindness and wisdom to America’s impressionable young minds and the parents who grew up with him. But when this beloved personality’s family begins to implode, Jeff finds no fairytale, fable or puppet will guide him through this crisis, which advances faster than his means to cope. The result: A kind man in a cruel world faces a slow leak of sanity as hilarious as it is heartbreaking.

The series also stars Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon), Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Catherine Keener (Get Out), Judy Greer (Married), Cole Allen and Juliet Morris. Guest stars include Justin Kirk (Weeds), Ginger Gonzaga (I’m Dying Up Here) and Tara Lipinski.

Throughout the season, Jeff begins to push back against the limits of the well-oiled machine that is “Mr. Pickles’ Puppet Time,” and of his executive producer, Seb (Langella). Seb fears Jeff’s mental state could ruin the branding empire they’ve built, and thus begins preparing the show for a life after Jeff, while Deirdre (Keener), the head puppet maker, grapples with her own professional and personal issues, including with her daughter, played by Morris. Greer stars as Jeff’s estranged wife, and their son is played by Allen.

Kidding is executive produced by Holstein, who wrote multiple episodes and serves as showrunner. The series reunites Carrey with Oscar winner Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), who serves as executive producer and directed several episodes. In addition, season one of Kidding is executive produced by Carrey, Michael Aguilar (I’m Dying Up Here), Roberto Benabib (Weeds), Raffi Adlan (The Green Hornet), Emmy nominee Jason Bateman (Arrested Development) and Jim Garavente (Bad Words).

The second season of Kidding will premiere on November 3 at 10 p.m. EST following the premiere of Shameless.
