When Little Nightmares was first revealed, many gamers and horror fans got excited since the horror adventure game featured some impressive graphics, especially with its atmospheric lighting. The game mixes cuteness in the form of the main protagonist with the frightening world. During Gamescom, one of the biggest video game conventions in the world, Bandai Namco has announced that Little Nightmares II is coming next year for consoles and PC, and it was revealed in a new trailer.
Synopsis: Little Nightmares II follows the story of Mono, a young boy trapped in a world distorted by the humming transmission of a distant Signal Tower. With Six, the girl in a yellow raincoat, together they set out to discover the grim secrets of the world whilst fleeing from the monstrous residents out to capture them.
Players will get to control Mono, and Six will be an AI companion. (Six was the protagonist in the first game.) The two children will have a special relationship that will be important in the story. With an AI companion, it opens the game up for new gameplay mechanics involving teamwork. Mono will have a lot of items to play with, but at its core, stealth is the name of the game as you sneak around the baddies. Players will get to go outside of The Maw, where the first game was set, and they’ll face new enemies including an evil Teacher.
Bandai Namco has partnered up with Tarsier Studios to help produce the sequel. Little Nightmares II will be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.
