We saw 20 Minutes of Toy Story 4 footage at Pixar!

Disney invited ComingSoon.net to Pixar headquarters in Emeryville, California to screen over 20 minutes of Toy Story 4 footage, which encompasses the entire opening of the film! Check out the full description below, along with new images from the film and behind-the-scenes in our gallery!

Although the footage we saw was not yet complete, it looked near-perfect already, with a level of detail not seen in all the Toy Story films made in the past  24-years. The movie opens with the Pixar logo, although it is being rained on. It starts 9-years before Toy Story 3, when Andy is still young. A toy car named RC is caught in a gutter outside at night, about to get washed away by the rain, so Woody and Buzz stage a rescue op with the help of Bo Peep. They are able to rescue RC, but the mission coincides with Bo Peep and her sheep getting boxed up and taken away by a man now that Bonnie is too old for a night light. Woody comes out to the car to try and rescue her too, but Bo Peep tells him not to.

“I’m not Andy’s toy,” she tells Woody. “It’s time for the next kid. You know… kids lose their toys every day. Sometimes they get lost in the yard or in the wrong box.”

Bo Peep gets taken away to a new family, presumably. The film then moves forward several years as Randy Newman’s “You Got a Friend in Me” plays, a close-up on Woody’s foot has “BONNIE” written on it now.

A scene of Bonnie playing with all the familiar toys shows her putting Woody’s sheriff badge. All the toys are stuck in a closet, including a new Elephant character voiced by Mel Brooks. They are a little bummed about not being picked anymore for play, and some of them have dust bunnies on them which they argue about naming. Bonnie’s parents tell her she can’t bring a toy with her to school, but Woody sneaks inside her backpack anyway.

At kindergarten orientation Bonnie is sad and anxious, and her teacher Miss Wendy tries to ease her in with an activity with art supplies. Woody sneaks out of the backpack and gathers crayons for Bonnie from the trash. She winds up making her own hand-made toy out of pipe cleaners, googly eyes and a spork named Forky (Tony Hale). When her parents pick her up from orientation she shouts, “I finished kindergarten!” They say no, but they are going on a vacation.

Back at the house when Woody starts talking to Forky it comes to life and keeps wanting to go back in the trash can, which is technically where he came from. He introduces Forky to the other toys. All he can say is “trash” and scream.

“This toy is crucial to Bonnie getting adjusted to kindergarten,” Woody tells everyone. “I know this is new to everybody but you should see how much this little guy means to Bonnie. We all have to make sure nothing happens to him.”

Bonnie comes back to the room and looks for Forky, but ultimately decides to cuddle with Woody.

Woody and the rest of the toys are back for an all-new adventure in Toy Story 4, welcoming new friends to Bonnie’s room, including a reluctant new toy called Forky. But Forky insists that he is NOT a toy! An actual spork-turned-craft-project, Forky is pretty sure that he doesn’t belong in Bonnie’s room. Unfortunately, every time he tries to get away, someone yanks him back into an adventure he’d rather skip.

Woody’s journey in Toy Story 4 also includes a visit to a carnival where he meets Ducky and Bunny, two carnival prizes who are eager to be won. But when their plans are rudely interrupted by Woody and his friends, they find themselves on an unexpected adventure with a group of toys who have no idea what it feels like to be tacked to a prize wall.

Keanu Reeves, Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele join newcomer Tony Hale in the voice cast alongside returning cast members Tim Allen, Tom Hanks, Annie Potts, Patricia Arquette and Joan Cusack.

Toy Story 4 ventures to U.S. theaters on June 21.
