John Wick: Chapter 3 wins big at the 20th annual Golden Trailer Awards
The very best in motion picture marketing was celebrated at the 20th annual Golden Trailer Awards last night in downtown Los Angeles. The AV Squad and Lionsgate took home Best of Show for their work on the John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum trailer titled “Conversation.” John Wick might’ve taken the top award, but Netflix won the most with 16 Golden Trailer statues. Warner Bros/HBO, and Disney also took home 14 and 11 awards, respectively.
John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum tied with A Star is Born for 5 Golden Trailer Awards each. Parabellum also won for Best Action and Best Summer 2019 Blockbuster Trailer, while A Star is Born won Best Drama, Best Romance, and Best Music TV Spot. Roma took home 4 awards, including Most Original Trailer.
The Golden Trailer Awards were launched in 1999 by Evelyn Watters and Monica Brady as a way to recognize the best of the best in worldwide motion picture and television marketing. The event has become one of the most anticipated award shows of the year. The ceremony awarded trophies to 107 different categories last night, though only 17 were handed out before a sold-out crowd, which you can see below. You can view the complete list of winners here.
