Cam trailer: Netflix releases first look at Blumhouse thriller
Netflix has released the first official trailer for the upcoming Blumhouse Productions thriller Cam starring The Handmaid’s Tale‘s Madeline Brewer, which can be viewed in the player below!

Written by Isa Mazzei from a story developed by her, Daniel Goldhaber and Isabelle Link-Levy (Swiss Army Man) and directed by Goldhaber, the film is set in the world of webcam porn and follows Alice, a camgirl who wakes one day to discover she’s been replaced on her site by an exact replica of herself. As her replica continues to push boundaries previously set by Alice, she begins losing control of her life and the men in it. As she fights to regain control, she is further drawn into the mystery of who is the replica woman and why she is driving Alice’s life into the ground.

The film marks a rare occurrence in the industry as the script was penned by Mazzei, who based it upon her work as an ex-cam girl, making it a film about sex work openly written by a former sex worker. Brewer is joined by Patch Darragh (The First Purge), Melora Walters (Venom), Devin Druid (13 Reasons Why), Imani Hakim (Burning Sands) and Michael Dempsey (Red Dead Redemption II).
Cam, which debuted at the Fantasia International Film Festival to rave reviews and won the best first feature and best screenplay awards, is produced by Gunpowder & Sky, Blumhouse Productions and Netflix and is set to be distributed by the streaming service on November 16.
