Power Rangers Legacy Wars Street Fighter Showdown short film stars Jason David Frank

For the last thirty plus years, Power Rangers and Street Fighter have still been going strong in today’s pop culture. Movies, TV, and video games are still being produced based on the two franchises. So it was only natural that one day we’d eventually see them together in the same universe.

In a partnership with Hasbro, nWay, and Capcom, Lionsgate released a short film called Power Rangers Legacy Wars: Street Fighter Showdown. Sponsored by Qualcomm Snapdragon and G Fuel, the short film is produced by Bat in the Sun productions as well as AllSpark pictures, an entertainment label from Hasbro.

In the short film, Street Fighter favorite Ryu has found himself in a world he doesn’t know, the world of the Morphin Grid. Being hunted down by Power Ranger clones, Ryu fights alongside Chun-li to find out why they’re there. Before an outnumbered brawl happens, Ryu and Chun-Li are transported to a temple hidden amongst the mountains. There they meet Tommy (Jason David Frank), the Green Ranger, where he tells them that Rita Repulsa and M. Bison have teamed so that they can control the Morphin Grid. Tommy gives Ryu a power coin and with a new Power Rangers team set, they go-off to end M. Bison and Rita Repulsa’s reign of terror.

Power Rangers Legacy Wars introduces fans to the origins of a new character called the Ryu Ranger. Powered by the power coin, Ryu’s strength is greatly amplified by the Power Ranger armor which. Combined with this keen fighting ability, the Ryu Ranger becomes a very powerful addition to the Power Ranger universe. In the fight against M. Bison, Ryu Ranger pulls of some his famous movies while donned in the iconic Power Ranger outfit, making it truly a sight to see.

Power Ranger Legacy Wars is now available on the Google Play Store and Apple iOS. A game where fans of the franchises can battle in real-time using their favorite characters.
