Halloween delivers a spine-tingling second trailer

With Halloween creeping up around the corner, Universal Pictures has released the second trailer for the upcoming ‘Halloween’ movie which will hit theaters on October 19th. Halloween will take place 40 years after the original film, which will serve as the direct sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 slasher flick.

‘Halloween’ will see Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie Strode, who’s spent the last four decades preparing for the inevitable return of Michael Myers. After spending the last 40 years in a mental institution, Michael Myers has managed to escape and he’s coming back to Haddonfield to finish what he started.

The new trailer shows us more of the brutality that Michael Myers is known for. The opening scene of the trailer shows Michael grabbing a hammer before he uses it on his next victim. What follows next is him grabbing the icon kitchen knife that becomes his preferred weapon of choice. The trailer this time around focuses more on the ultimate showdown between an unrelenting killer and a victim turned heroine.

So far by the looks of it, it seems that David Gordon Green has kept true to the Halloween franchise and will be delivering a movie that will promise us a high sense of tension and fear.

To amp up Halloween fans even further, in the trailer you can hear the original soundtrack that gave us chills down our spine. From the iconic theme music to the high pitched ting of Michael Myers stalking, this new Halloween should definitely please any horror fan.

Halloween is directed by David Gordon Green who had previously directed the stoner comedies ‘Pineapple Express’ and ‘Your Highness.’ The movie is written by David Gordon Green, Jeff Fradley and Danny McBride, who all three have worked together on HBO’s comedy ‘Vice Principals.’

Halloween stars Jaime Lee Curtis, Judy Greer, Will Patton, and Nick Castle (Who played Michael Myers in the first Halloween). The film is produced by Blumhouse Productions and Miramax.

Halloween slashes theaters on October 19th.
