If you’re a film buff then you’ve probably heard of the parlor game, Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. If you haven’t heard of it then it’s a game where players try to find the shortest path between a chosen actor and Kevin Bacon. For example, Elvis Presley was in Change of Habit (1969) with Edward Asner. Edward Asner was in JFK (1991) with Kevin Bacon. For Skyscraper, we decided to play the game but with some of the actors in the film. For this edition, we’ve chosen Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Chin Han, and Byron Mann.
Six Degrees of Dwayne Johnson
If you thought that the number for Dwayne Johnson would be really low then you would be correct. Dwayne Johnson has been in a lot of films. As a result, he connects with a lot of actors. For Dwayne Johnson, we’ve chosen six members of the new Star Wars trilogy. In other words, John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher.
As you can see, the average number between Johnson and the Star Wars cast is one. Daisy Ridley is basically the only one whose number is two. This is primarily due to the lack of films on Ridley’s resume. Luckily, she stars in a few ensemble films including Murder on the Orient Express and this year’s Peter Rabbit. Then again, Johnson has starred in several ensemble films as well. That’s why his numbers are extremely low.
Six Degrees of Chin Han
Chin Han has been an actor in a number of roles for twenty years now. As a result, his connections span over several years. For Chin Han, we’ve chosen the original six members of The Avengers. In other words, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner.
As you can see from the infographic, Han has had a role in a film with both Evans and Johansson. In fact, Han even had a role in a Marvel Studios film. Surprisingly, Chris Hemsworth is the only actor whose number is two. Similar to Johnson, Han has starred in several ensemble films which explains everyone’s low numbers.
Six Degrees of Byron Mann
Byron Mann has been in the game for over twenty years now. In fact, his entire acting career consists of sixty-seven roles. That’s a lot of stuff to connect to the cast of Justice League.
Unlike Johnson and Han, Byron Mann’s average number is two. This is primarily due to the lack of ensemble roles for most of the Justice League cast. But luckily, Mann had a role on “Hell on Wheels” with someone who has starred in Ray Fisher’s one other role.
Be sure to check out Dwayne Johnson, Chin Han, and Byron Mann in Skyscraper this weekend.
