When Unbreakable came out, it was one of the few good superhero films that came out in the early 00s. Ever since then Shyamalan’s career became a metaphor for a phoenix rising from the ashes. His career took a lot of hits. But M. Night hit the reset button and went back to creating more low budget suspenseful horror films. Now, his films became must see films once again.
Once Split‘s surprise ending was revealed, Glass became the most highly-anticipated films of his career. The trailer impressed at CinemaCon and SDCC, and now, you can watch it too.
Needless to say, the Glass trailer got a huge ovation at both CinemaCon and SDCC. The trailer felt like a Shyamalan film, it’s mysterious at first but after a while things get crazy. Also, seeing David Dunn, Elijah, and all of McAvoy’s personalities together is a very cool sight.
But the biggest question is if Glass will live up to the hype. Shyamalan finally found his groove again but will Glass bring him back to mediocrity again? Judging by the trailer, I’m going to say no. However, we have seen trailers mislead audiences before. Some for the good and some for the bad.
Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men.
