VR gaming is still a niche hobby, but Survios has plans to make it more accessible to consumers by opening up a VR arcade. This past weekend, the Survios VR Arcade had a grand opening at the Del Amo Fashion Center in Torrance, CA, and mall attendees were invited to check it out.
The location currently has 8 VR stations, each with glass walls and large projected videos so that onlookers can see the user flail about as they’re blasting enemies in a first-person shooter (Raw Data), running in an obstacle course (Sprint Vector), or having ADD in an office environment (Job Simulator).
With Survios VR Arcade, a guest can pay for the hour, making it cheaper than having a high-end PC and buying an Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. During my time there, I’ve noticed a lot of families with young kids getting excited about VR. It’s great to see people of all ages experiencing the immersive format.
There are over a dozen games to choose from, each being able to show off the mesmerizing world of VR.
