Rainbow Six Siege‘s Year Three is approaching fast, with Operation Chimera going live in less than a month. As much as fans and players alike are looking forward to it, most of the attention is geared towards the special Outbreak event that Ubisoft has planned. Aside from being completely free, Outbreak is a break away (pun intended) from the norm of what Siege is.
It’s set in the New Mexico town of Truth or Consequences (yes, that’s an actual place), and has been quarantined off due to “an infestation of unknown origin.” It seems this infestation was caused by a space capsule that crashed near the town. Check it out in the trailer below.
In Outbreak, players will play co-op across 3 exclusive new maps that are larger than what we’ve been used to. Also, you’ll have one of 10 operators to choose from that are best suited for the job: Smoke, Ying, Buck, Kapkan, Ash, Doc, Tachanka, Glaz, and 2 new operators from Operation Chimera. The event will also feature exclusive cosmetic items that will only be around for the duration of Outbreak. These include headgear, charms, weapon skins, and more; up to 50 unique items total.
Outbreak and Operation Chimera goes live on March 6th, with the Outbreak event lasting for 4 weeks. Also be sure to check out the original trailer below.
