In shops and on Nintendo eShop now: Metroid: Samus Returns

Suit up as the legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran and hunt down a dangerous species in Metroid: Samus Returns, out now exclusively on Nintendo 3DS family systems.

In this complete reimagining of the 1992 Game Boy title Metroid II: Return of Samus, experience the perils of planet SR388 with atmospheric 3D visuals, expanded locations and powerful new abilities.

When the threat of alien lifeforms known as Metroids resurfaces on planet SR388, legendary bounty hunter Samus Aran is sent to hunt down and destroy the hostile species before they fall into the wrong hands. Explore a labyrinthian world full of ancient technology, and enhance your arsenal with new weapons and abilities as you seek out the Metroid menace.

Master a variety of advanced tactics to overcome the planet’s vicious wildlife, and survive deadly boss encounters. Deflect incoming projectiles and defend against enemy attacks with the Melee Counter, and fire in any direction with the 360-degree Free Aim Mode. By harnessing the mysterious power of Samus’ new Aeion abilities, you can reveal unexplored areas, unleash a barrage of fire against the enemy, and even slow down time.

Two new amiibo (sold separately) are also launching alongside the game: Samus Aran and a squishy Metroid amiibo. These amiibo, along with other compatible amiibo, can aid you on your adventure and be used to unlock new content after you’ve completed the mission.
