Titans’ Alan Ritchson lands lead role in Amazon’s Jack Reacher series
It has already been over seven months since Amazon Studios gave a series order to Nick Santora’s Jack Reacher series, and now Deadline brings word that the series adaptation has finally found its titular lead in the form of Titans star Alan Ritchson. This marks the 37-year-old’s first major TV project as the leading star after starring in 2010’s Blue Mountain State and 2017’s Blood Drive.
Ritchson will take on the mantle of becoming the newest live-action Jack Reacher, who was famously portrayed by Tom Cruise in Paramount Pictures’ film adaptations but was met with criticisms due to Cruise not meeting the character’s physical description in the novels.

The Jack Reacher series will be written and showrun by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break). The first season will apparently be based on The Killing Floor, the first Jack Reacher novel in Lee Child’s novel series.

The series will be produced by Amazon Studios, Skydance Television, and Paramount Television studios. Santora will executive produce the series. Executive producers also include Child, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan, and Christopher McQuarrie, with David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and Marcy Ross exec producing for Skydance. Carolyn Harris will oversee the project for Skydance.

Tom Cruise previously appeared as the character in two movies. The first Jack Reacher film, released in 2012, made almost $220 million globally and received mostly positive reviews, despite the initial backlash behind Cruise’s casting. The sequel, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, came out four years later and failed to wow critics or box office tallies.
