Funny or Die acquires Call & Response from Vaughn & Eagle
After partnering with the comic duo for the Comedy Central series The New Negroes, Funny or Die is reuniting with Baron Vaughn (Scare Package) and Open Mike Eagle for a new web series entitled Call & Response, according to Deadline.

In collaboration with Black millennial platform Blavity, the web series will debut on Funny or Die and Blavity’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitch channels and will see the duo invite their favorite comedians, musicians, actors, visual artists, novelists, educators, philosophers and more to riff on current events, explore ways to use the current political momentum and speak about their respective professions, work and struggles.
The New Negroes aired on Comedy Central in April 2019 and featured the duo showcasing a collection of new and established comedians and musicians, with the goal to promote and elevate talented Black voices, featuring comics including Chris Redd (Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping), Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Josh Johnson, Clayton English, Naomi Ekperigin, Ian Edwards, David Gborie and Shalewa Sharpe.

Call & Response is set to begin airing on Tuesday, June 16, with new episodes airing Monday through Friday at noon PST.
